Mylene Kellerman is the Safety and Health Supervisor for the USF Safety Florida 21(d) Consultation Program. She has been with the consultation program since 1991, working initially with the Florida Department of Labor, and then with the University of South Florida since 2000.
Mylene supervises the day-to-day field operations of the consultation program. She also provides free and confidential workplace safety and health consultation to small businesses that request the service, especially those that have a high incidence of workplace illness and injury. She performs comprehensive on-site safety and health surveys for a wide variety of industries, provides industrial hygiene monitoring services, offers technical guidance to clients regarding safety and health issues and assists employers to develop, write and implement safety and health programs to ensure compliance with federal standards and enhance workplace safety and health.
Mylene has a Master of Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton, PA, and is a certified occupational hearing conservationist. She is the course chairperson and an instructor for the OTI 521 Guide to Industrial hygiene class and is also an instructor of the OTI 2225 Respiratory Protection class. Mylene is an authorized OSHA outreach trainer for the construction industry and general industry 10- and 30-hour classes.
